Our guides hold the highest possible level of certification granted by the Government of Zambia for a safari guide, and have spent a lifetime in Zambia's pristine South Luangwa Valley.

When to visit:
NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME! We are open 12 months per year. Spring, Summer and Fall are popular months to go on safari, but winter in the Luangwa River Valley provides many great opportunities to see the lush, beautiful landscape and allows for many rare animal sightings. Our 4X4 Landcruiser Safari's are possible any time of the year to accommodate your schedule.
HOW TO GET HERE:
STEP 1) FLY TO ZAMBIA. There are many international flights to Zambia's capital city Lusaka (airport code LUN).
STEP 2) GETTING TO MIKANGO SAFARI IS EASY: The best way is to book a flight directly into the nearby Mfuwe Airport (MFU), and we will pick you up. Mfuwe Airport is a short flight from Zambia's capital city of Lusaka, and a short flight from the town of Livingstone (a must-see town, home of the incredible Victoria Falls). Many guests use Proflight to get to Mfuwe Airport.

BY BUS: While flights are the best way to travel in Africa, they can be very expensive.
Jonda Bus Service has service from Lusaka's Intercity Bus Terminal directly to Mfuwe for around $25 USD...but it's a long trip! Check with them directly, but they typically have a 5AM daily departure from Lusaka, arriving 5PM in Mfuwe. Jonda Bus and Shalom Bus Services operate also between Lusaka to Victoria.
